Description
The city of Badajoz was founded for Abd-al Rahman Ibn Marwan, in the year 875, reigning in Cordovan emir Muhammad I. After heading several rebellions, Ibn Marwan could not return to its residence (Merida) place although yes he/she was allowed to found a new city. The elected location to lift the Citadel (originally of cement), and to found the city, it was the Hill of the Molar. From the foundation, and due to their strategic situation in the frontier with Portugal, the city has had a marked character of strong square. This defensive character, together to political and economic causes, it has provoked a constant deterioration of the walled enclosure of the Citadel.....

The provisional reservation in favor of the denominated State "Codosera", inscription number 225, for investigation of mineral resources of gold, antimony, tin and volframio understood in the county of Badajoz, it was established by the Real Ordinance 1146/1987, of June 3; continued their period of validity for the Order of November 5 1990 and reduced their surface with rising of the rest of the same one for the Real Ordinance 1394/1992, of November 13.
