MERCADILLO is a small village of Castile and León that it is in the county of Ávila and it depends on the City council of Narrillos of Álamo.
It is 1181 m. of altitude and in spite of their population shortage, the cuckoos, like the inhabitants of the area are called, they have known how to conserve the rural charm that every time misses but in the cities.
The historical only patrimony that is conserved is its church of the time of the románico that reflects the step of the years clearly. He/she keeps their essence and practically it has not been altered their structure from their construction.

Description
The population of Gutierre Muñoz arises in the medieval time starting from the repopulation of the XI century of the lands of Ávila, directed by Raimundo from Burgundy, under Alfonso's orders VI. Their origin comes from a town arisen soon after its position in a real narrow canyon. Here Alfonso died VIII of Castile in 1214.....In Gutierre-Muñoz's term the vineyards were plentiful and the church even had already a warehouse of agricultural products in 1303. It was about a village of half size for that time when producing 24 maravedís in 1250. It belonged to Vega's Third.....
