It is part of the county of Salamanca of whose capital dista 50 kilometers. BaƱobƔrez keeps remains of an old occupation of the territory. The necropolis tardorromana, corresponding to the Hispanic-Visigothic (centuries V-VII) time, is located in the payment of Tarihuela, in the Meadow of Medinilla.
Several sepulchers, worked in the granite, with trapezoidal form and fit for the head, they are the most common, although we also find some double burials, taking advantage of blocks of granite of more size.

paved and dirty in humid time, and a small square that contains the house of the town council, built in Carlos' reign IV, with the jail and the school; school endowed with the funds of characteristic with 1.100 real. At the distance of a league fourth, he/she is the Christ's small hermitage. The term measures 5.000 huebras; the works are made with 236 oxen
