Description
The Roof is to the south of the county of Salamanca, near the county of Avila. It is a very old town. Most of the houses are made of stone, adobe and mud. Many of their buildings rose to XIX final century when the highway was built that connected with that of Sorihuela-Piedrahita. Their streets are of irregular layout. This town is divided in three neighborhoods: The Stall, Magdalena and the Roof. It counts an old legend that already much a long time ago a lady had three children. The children were not supported those some to the other ones and the mother, tired of so many discussions, it built them a house to each one the sufficiently far away ones so that they didn't have that it turns. To one it sent it to The Roof, to another to Magdalena and the third to The Stall. But when the mother died, they fought being thrown canchos each other again. Berrueco was formed this way.

Description
The two trails Roman incrustradas in the exterior of the apse of San Martin's church, remind us the historical past of The Round one.
The houses of the town, built in granite, conserve a traditional flat architecture of great harmony. Houses with inscriptions, square windows with granite lattice and the portalejos are some elements that enhance the quality of the group.
To the outskirts of the town, the plant of the old factory of flours speaks to us of a lost splendor for the sake of the emigration and the abandonment. Tin mines and granite quarries, equally forgotten today were also in the past exploited.

It is a small town of Salamanca, in full district of the Loud Field whose inhabitants are devoted
to the agriculture and the cattle raising.
It is located on the Roman road that Salamanca, Helmántice, united with City Rodrigo, Miróbriga, lowering toward Extremadura for the Port of Pear trees, the road Dalmatia.
For the Cadaster of Ensenada we know that it was, the same as today, a town of farmers and cattle, where as tuneless only note it was the existence of a tavern for walkers and travelers and a house-palace belonging to the gentlemen of the place.

Description
The first vestiges of the history of The Swimming pool are to look for them in the prehistory whose print remains in the paintings rupestres of the time of the neolithic one in numerous canchales and cliffs of the valleys that surround to The Swimming pool: Lera and Batuecas.
In the Half Age, among the XII and XIII centuries the repopulation took place for the king's decision Alfonso IX. Of people's flow that arrived to this earth, it leaves outstanding it was that of French origin through D. Raimundo from Burgundy, French married nobleman with doña Magpie, one of Alfonso's daughters VI. This origin would justify the numerous presence of French toponyms in Sierra from France.
