There are documented data and archaeological registrations that the first human establishments in the area date of the Paleolithic one inferior (centuries of the IX to II a.C.). But it is still a mystery who you/they were their first residents; Celtic, Iberian or Vascones. The excavations in the necropolis of Torraza revealed the remains that you/they belong to the first half of the Age of Iron. Roman remains have also appeared in near places and it is that the area had an early romanization. The stones of Torraza seem also to be part of a funeral Roman monument. In the surroundings of Torraza they have been Roman villages, mosaics, vessels, currencies that give faith of their establishment.

Description
Valley of Ultzama. There is somebody in Belate, to their surroundings the mounts Saioa, Okolin, Loiketa, Urdanbidegi, Txaruta. he/she calls Himself "Mortua" the crown of mounts that Ultzama shines in its head, and there is somebody in one of the tips of that crown. He/she wonders: what was it before, the valley of Ultzama or the river Ultzama?
Maybe that question is not - geolĂłgicamente - difficult to answer, but it is not necessary to go so behind in the time to know the what a thing it is what only lapses in the History of Ultzama and what it is what remains.1 - since there below, I joust in front, somebody lived in the CAVES DE ABAUNTZ they have happened 15.000 years. Just as the bill Atxaga, since there he/she lit the fire the grandmother number 270 (more or less) of the grandmother of a grandmother of Ultzama. we have been some 92.000 ultzameses or "ultzamarras." More or less half of the inhabitants of Pamplona, hardly to fill the field of soccer of Nou Camp. But too many to try to gather the names of all, truth is not? With everything, do you know at least to a dead ultzamarra before the year 1900?

Description
Valley of Larraun, town and routes. We are in a portion from Montaña to which the geographers call the humid Navarrese of the northwest, or also Navarrese humid Cantabrian and subcantábrica: and it is that the humidity and the abundant rains are the main element that characterizes their climate and he/she has a decisive influence in the vegetation and in the ways of their inhabitants' life.On the other hand, it is located in the northwest of Navarrese and it can be defined as Cantabrian and subcantábrica for their vicinity to this sea, so much that two of their valleys, Leitzaran and Araitz pour their waters to him.
Geographical and historically the territory is organized in valleys trenched by main rivers that sometimes give name to the respective valleys, like it is the case of Larraun, Ultzama, Basaburua and Leitzaran. Not this way in the case of the valley of Imotz, trenched by the river Larraun, neither the valley of Araitz, organized by the river Araxes.

Description
Valley of Egues, club of golf of Gorraiz town of Navarrese. The big areas of prairies are abundant in diverse rodents, especially topillos that having proliferated a lot in Gorraiz these last years constitutes a plague, because they put an end to the grass in the places where they concentrate their nets of galleries by force of covering it with the earth that you/they extract. Diverse predators feed especially of this type of rodents, like it is the case of the common small kestrel that we see in the picture posed on a tree but whose characteristic image is fluttering immobile, suspended on the land to the watching of some prey.
Other habitual predators in Gorraiz are the kite (common or real), with their forked unmistakable line and the ratonero. Of more sporadic presence, they can sometimes be observed the pale eaglet and the wearing shoes eagle. There are also them that they work eliminating rodents at night, like they are the autillo, owl, owl and cárabo. All they represent an inestimable help when containing in bearable limits the populations of these fruitful micromamĂferos.
