Thanks to a series of old documents, we know that the historical data of Valdelaguna go back to Enrique's time IV, king from Castile and brother of Isabel the Catholic that happened him/her in the throne. It could be that own Enrique IV, or, Reyes Catholics, they commended to the family of Fernando of Benavente of Quiñones this Villa.
It is probable that it was this family the one that introduced the devotion to Sacred Toribio, pattern of the town.
