Torremontalbo, tower-strong of the Counts of you Boiled town of the rioja. The strong tower of Torremontalbo is located on the edge of the highway N-232, next to the river Najerilla. It is a construction in seat, of square (12,50 m. of side; 2 m. of wall grosor) plant. It presents ground floor and five floors although he/she originally only had low and three, have more than enough wooden beams. The communication among the floors should be through hand stairways that at the moment are also used. The access to the interior of the tower was carried out for a door in arch of half point, located in the side N., to the height of the first floor, blinded today. The vain originals are distributed in the following way: in the second floor, large window of arches geminados to the AND. and a loophole to W.; in the last floor, large windows geminados in the facades AND., S. and W.

Tormantos situation history and monuments town of the rioja.The first historical mention of Tormantos dates of the XII century, appearing mentioned in a donation document made by Blasco Alvarez, neighbor of Tormantos, to Sacred Domingo of the Roadway. This donation was carried out in the year 1137 and it consisted on a vineyard (Tiled. "History of Sacred Domingo of the Roadway").
In the XII same Century, in the year 1146, the king Alfonso VII include Tormantos in the denominated Jurisdiction of Cherry tree, village of which would become independent during Carlos' reign III. Previously, he/she appears mentioned in a donation of the year 1269 in the one that don Sim贸n Roiz gave its wife Do帽a Sancha Alfonso, the king's from Le贸n daughter, all possessed "in Tormantos and in all its terms."

Tormantos is located to the northwest of the Autonomous Community of Rioja in the area of High Rioja and it is the first town riojana that crosses the river Tug.
Our flora and fauna is very conditioned mainly by the type of agriculture of the area cerealista and for the disappearance of great part of the sotobosques of the three rivers that you/they furrow the municipal term of Tormantos in spite of it they are still numerous plants and animals that live in our area. We highlight the European mink, tawny vulture, eagle, otter, trout etc.
