Berrobi is located 5 km. of Tolosa. It has an extension of 2,7 Km2 and it is put in the valley of the river Berastegi, in the hillsides of the mount Uzturre. A population of 587 inhabitants possesses.The same as other municipalities of the area, he/she united to Tolosa in the year 1.374, accepting their artificial authority and getting protection against the outrages of the local noblemen. Not he/she ended up having Title of Villa. With the General Law of City Councils of 1.845 ended up having ordinary mayor.

The term goierri or goiherri mean high country and it is the traditional denomination with which calls you to the high basin of the river Oria, in opposition with Beterri (low country) that is the low basin of this river. In strict sense Goyerri is therefore the district that includes the high basin of the river Oria.
This district contributes to the gastronomy guipuzcoana two fundamental ingredients: the Cheese of Idiazabal whose quality and originality protects a rigorous origin denomination, and the puddings of Beasain.
