Description
It is located among several elevations of the landscape, called "alcores." These elevations of the land or alcores gave place to the name of Arches and for their geographical location, later Sierra added. Thanks to the wool, in the XVII century, it reaches their biggest number of inhabitants, since it was this the base of the national economy, the same as the lignite mine there exploited. At this time historical, Arches had 260 inhabitants and of them forty percent was devoted to the agriculture and cattle raising. In s. XVII, Arches reached their historical maximum importance that he/she made possible that increases their population in great way and improves their urban structure, composed by fifty houses of good quality, he/she marries City council, jail, parochial church, two hermitages, that of San Bartolomé and that of San Sebastian, good supply of waters and a school. Throughout s. XIX, Arches suffer their population's great descent, as consequence of the postwar period and later the emigration of

He/she has been able to be saved, after a meritorious reconstruction, their splendid church románica, the best conserved of this style in the whole county. The cover is of extraordinary beauty, with a series of archivolts framing the door; it highlights for its originality the embedded reed-mace; before the temple he/she is the baptismal beautiful pile, also old of Gothic court. Traditionally the last concert that he/she closes Religious Music's Week takes place.

Coming from Valera of Below and going by Bungholes of the Castle, you arrives to BarchĂn of the Hole, typical town of Manchuela that has two buildings of interest: The Parochial of AsunciĂłn and in front of her the House Palacio of Melgarejo (S.XVI). Far from the town, it has the term archaeological locations of the Age of Iron, as well as a roll-pillory coming from Motilla of great elegance, in a private property.

Description
At certain distance of this village they rise the imposing ruins of the Castle of Puebla of Beacon, of certain value paisajĂstico and from the one that restrains a wide territory that embraces numerous towns. Possession of D. Juan Manuel and, therefore, inside the dominion of Villena. The on the way to access to the castle leaves from the Hermitage of the Mercy that has atrium at noon with piazza of arches supported in thick and low columns. The interior is of a single ship with a Baroque altarpiece of good appearance and the Virgin's niche. The Parochial one has a tower of square plant with couple of holes to each side for bells. He/she has an elegant Renaissance cover of arch of half point with a column to each side of Corinthian capitals next to lockets finished off by triangular fronton with niche and finished off by a cross. The interior is of plant of Latin cross with chapels to each side of the arms of the cruise. The large house of D is in the new street. Juan from Cuenca, building of two heights built in s. XVII.
