The municipality of Saro is located in the district of Pisueña, being part of the historical valley of Carriedo. It has a surface of 17,8 km2 that limits with Santa María's terms from Cayón to the north, Villafufre to the west, Villacarriedo to the south and San Asleep of Riomiera to the east. He/she has two population nucleuses, Llerana and Saro, although the 525 inhabitants' that populate the municipality good part is distributed in a dispersed way by the territory, still maintaining the traditional way of life pasiego.

Santoña, House-Palacio of Manzanedo cantabria town.One of the good known and admired mansions of Santoña is the palace lifted by don Juan Manuel of Manzanedo González, in the decade of sixty in the XIX last century. The palace, of structure interior square and great patio, it was projected by the architect Antonio Ruiz of Salces, author also of the School Manzanedo - today Institute of Secondary educations - in the same town.
