A geographical place: This municipality burgalés, with peninsula form, it is surrounded by the county of Cantabria. Their relief is very irregular, with abundance of mountains and elevations. We can differentiate two areas clearly, with different characteristic. In the most western end in Merindades, between the Reservoir of Ebro and the South of Cantabria, Alfoz of Santa Gadea extends. Nowadays, Alfoz is integrated by the towns of Higón, Quintanilla of Santa Gadea and the capital Santa Gadea of Alfoz.
