Description
In OÃn one of the most impressive pazos in the area is, that of Antequeira, works of the XVIII century that conserves their elegant chapel. In Urdilde they highlight the archaeological locations of OR Laburnum, the altarpieces of their parochial church and the cruzeiro of Vilariño that it represents the moment of the descendimiento.
The chapel of the pazo of Antequeira in Rois, near Census, presents a ramshackle state at the present time: the whole roof and great part of the vault have collapsed and the walls present appreciable collapses and crackings. To prevent more damages in the chapel, the Department of Architecture ordered the realization, in the first months of 1997, of a series of previous works: 1) he/she cleaned the trasdós of the vault and heads of the walls (covered with the remains of the roof and numerous vegetation); 2) they grouped the ashlars of the vault collapsed in the center of the ship to facilitate the mensuration tasks and study; 3) he/she prepared a system of suspenders to impede the increase of the collapses.

Their older mention is as Artasio, in a document of the year 942 picked up in the tumble of the monastery of Celanova: "in Lighthouse former fact tie domne urinates Gunterodis, Artasio." It is trenched by the rivers Arteixo and Seixedo.
The lands of Arteijo belonged in the Ecclesiastical Administration to Santiago's diocese, to the arcedianado of Nendos and the arciprestado of Lighthouse.
In the old régime, the parishes that constituted the City council of Arteijo (1836) they belonged to the jurisdictions of Anzobre, Coruña, Erboedo, Morás and Soandres; there were also the limits of Oseiro, Suevos, Loureda and Morás.
In the censuses and nomenclátores of the XIX century and of the XX figure TO Baiuca like capital of the City council of Arteijo. The name of Arteijo doesn't come from population's singular entity, because when he/she was born there was not any entity inside the term that took it. The parish of Arteijo, Santiago, is the one that gives name to the city council.
All the specialists of their toponimia coincide in considering the toponym like a word of origin prerromana. Some intend to consider it derived of a root art - that it would mean concavity or depression in the surface of the floor and it would also be applied to give name to recipients. It would belong, according to this hypothesis, to the same family that the noun common trough that Corominas explains as word "of uncertain origin, probably prerromano", at the time that associates it with the Basque artesia ('hole').

To arrive to the Stone of the Ark, it is necessary to go to Baio and to take the highway to Baiñas that begins in the street where The Tavern is. When arriving in Baiñas to the crossing with the main highway AC-441, we cross of front and we follow the indications (at the end, it is necessary to go by an earth track that is not not well completely, but that he/she could give us problems if it was smeared).
The dolmen is perfectly visible from the car (to our left).
