Description
The municipality is denominated San Pedro of the Ship - Almond, although the church is located in the pedanÃa of Campillo. San Pedro of the Ship, as well as it is denominated to the church, it is not only one of the buildings more emblemáticos of the area, but of the county. This Visigothic church was built in the century VII and it is one of the scarce and more beautiful examples of the art hispanovisigodo. The external, harmonious and balanced group, is supplemented with the interior wealth, in which highlight its horseshoe arches and the ornamentation of the friezes and capitals, some historians with biblical scenes as 'Daniel in the moat of the lions' or 'Isaac's sacrifice.' The current location doesn't correspond with its old location of which was transferred in the years thirty to save her of the flood of the reservoir of Esla.
