Olmillos takes its name of its vegetable homonym, the elm tree, so generous around its creeks.
Located 30 Km. of Burgos, in the highway N-120, coinciding with the motorized layout of the one on the way to Santiago, to 831 m. of altitude. He/she has a continental climate, I fry in winter and hot and I dry off in their short summer.
Olmillos is repopulation place. Their foundation is to locate it around the year 880, after the repopulation of Amaya (860) and before, or at the same time that that of Castrojeriz (882). He/she appears documented at the end of S.XI.
