Description
In 1545, the village of Tariego continued belonging, in the ecclesiastical thing, to Arciprestazgo of Cevico of the Tower, Arcedianato of Cerrato and Diocese of Palencia (60/II/Prolusión).By the middle of the XVI century, this village continued being dominion of the Counts of BuendÃa (77/147). Later on, the dominion of the village and strength of Tariego passed the Duke of Medinaceli. Their toponym maybe comes from the agglutination "Tar" in hill sense or height but the prerromano "ecas", the town. It seems that it was fortified in time preindeuropea, and sure in times celtÃbéricos, resisting the vacecos the assaults of the Roman legions.
