Description
Villanueva of Cañada or Despernada were in times village of Valdemorillo, town of which separated in 1487. Later, in 1628, it would succeed in the range of Villa buying such a privilege to the king, like they made many other towns of the Crown of Castile from half-filled of the XVI century. It belonged in that time to the Earth of Segovia, being part of the territories of Sexmo of Casarrubios, for what would depend in the administrative thing during centuries and in the fiscal of Segovia and their corregidor, while ecclesiastically it was linked to the arciprestazgo of Channels (Móstoles) of the archbishopric of Toledo. Already in contemporary time, with the division in judicial parties carried out in the XIX century, the town was integrated in the party of Navalcarnero, passing to depend on the Territorial Audience of Madrid and being attributed in the military thing to the General Captaincy of Castile the New one.
