Almadieros of Navarrese, tradition in the towns of Roncal.The raft is a raft formed by several tracts of timbers of identical longitude tied to each other by means of vegetable (hazel tree vergas, wild wicker, etc.) jarcias, with oars in the tip and in the rear whose mission is to direct or to drive the raft for the bed of the river.Until relatively very few years ago the inhabitants of our valleys came being devoted fundamentally to three production sectors: the agriculture, the livestock and the wood. In our towns until half of the XX century they were numerous and nurtured the gangs that were devoted, in their biggest part in quality of salaried, to the works of the wood. They were the maderistas and almadieros who, at the same time, they also had to be used in the siembra of fields and vegetable gardens and in the breeding of animals to take out the family ahead.
