Sant Joan of Vilada ja apareix documentat the 903, in l'acte of consagració of the desapareguda Santa MarÃa of Roset. L'edifici originari was romà nic of s. XII, of the qual sols they are altar alguns murs. The construcció current fou fruit d'unes remodalacions patides s. XVII seguint els models of rural Barroc. It consists d'una nau amb capelles laterals i a campanar.
