Temper d'origen romà nic però molt transformat per successives remodelacions. L'edifici originà riament was d'una single nau, romà nica dels XI-XII segles. The lloc of Meserago apareix esmentat in documents of finals of the segle X. The veïnat of Priorat (16 h the one 1981), 400 m to llevant of the municipi cap, és format per quatre masies escampades i l'església of the one that fou antic priorat of Santa MarÃa of l'Om that li has donat nom. The castell of Torcafelló construït pels l'any volts 1080, i documentat gives of the 1106, he/she goes to work among els s. XIII XI I. The muralles clos, tanca a superfÃcie d'uns 18 m. d'ample per 25,5 m. of llarg. The mur, lleugerament atalussat, tea a gruix d'1 m. A fossat travels tot l'exterior, amb an amplada of 2,5 m. starting from the qual hi there is a segon mur that envolta tota l'antiga wall. Actualment is pot veure the capella, dedicated to Sant Jordi, i subtracts of the mur i of the fossar.
The 1988 the Shop d'Història of Maçanet emprengué works them of restauració that they have suposat the tot recuperació the conjunt: the capella, them muralles, the pont main d'accés, els fossars..
