Toast Renaissance and apse of the cathedral of Lugo.According to some authors, after the Roman time the center of Lugo was practically deserted and, during Half High Age, this was busy practically only for the clergy. In 1129 the construction of the cathedral románica began, designed by the teacher Raimundo of Monforte and dedicated to Santa MarÃa, call Virgin of the Big Eyes. The Renaissance altarpiece that was in the biggest altar, work of Cornelius of Holland, left as a consequence of the earthquake of Lisbon of 1755. After he/she decided it to divide it in several fragments, both bigger than which are at the moment in both ends of the cruise ship.During the Drop Half Age Lugo was, the same as Santiago of Compostela, a pilgrimage center, since the cathedral had the special privilege that conserves still nowadays, of exposing the public a consecrated Host the twenty-four hours of the day (of there the motto of the shield). http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lugo |

Lugo is the name of the capital of the county of the same name, in Galicia, Spain. The city was founded among the years 26 and 12 adC by Paulo Fabio Maximum, legacy of Caesar Augusto in whose honor baptized her as Lucus Augusti (the word Latin lucus means "clear" or sacred" "forest, according to the different authors). Fruit of the expansible politics carried out in Augusto's time, the city was founded on a military old camp installed before the Cantabrian wars. It is about the oldest capital in Galicia. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lugo |
