The political strength of sarria had correspondence in the multitude of strengths (strength of Sarria) and documented castles (Castelo of Loureiro of Froián. Castelo of Louseiro, Castelo two Infants, Castelo of Meixente and Tower of Domiz) from which dominated noble families, owners of small jurisdictions. Lugo is the name of the capital of the county of the same name, in Galicia, Spain. The city was founded among the years 26 and 12 adC by Paulo Fabio Maximum, legacy of Caesar Augusto in whose honor baptized her as Lucus Augusti (the word Latin lucus means "clear" or sacred" "forest, according to the different authors). Fruit of the expansible politics carried out in Augusto's time, the city was founded on a military old camp installed before the Cantabrian wars. The Roman presence in Sarria comes bound to the hegemony of the Roman nearest city, Lucus Augusti that connected through the village sarriana with Castro Dactonio (Monforte of Lemos), archaeological excavations revealed the presence of two Roman villages located in Vilar of Sarria and in San AntolĂn. You also finds a funeral trail coming from Vilar of Sarria that now this exposed one in the Museum of Pontevedra.
