Alhambra is a city palatine andalusÃ, in Granada (Spain). Etimológicamente, Alhambra in Arabic is "Hamra", (the Red one, .......) coming from the complete name "Qal'at al-hamra (Red Strength)." See Alhambra from San Nicolás' Mirador Alhambra seen from the gardens of Generalife. To the bottom the neighborhood of AlbayzinEn their evolution, the Castilian inserts between M and R a B, like in carpet that had the meaning of "redness" in classic Arabic, written as "humrah." That the name of Alhambra comes from what we have just read it is only a version, because there are other authors that say that in the time andalusà Alhambra was whitewashed and its color was white. The name of "red" would come him/her because when you was built he/she worked at night, and seen at night, from far, due to the light of the brands, it was red]. Alhambra is on the other hand a walled real (medina) city that occupies most of the hill of Sabika, Granada he/she had another amurallamiento system. Therefore Alhambra could work with autonomy regarding Granada. In Alhambra they were all the own and necessary services for the population that lived there: mosques, schools, shops, etc.In 1238 he/she enters in Granada for Elvira's Door, and to occupy Palacio of the Rooster of the Wind, Mohamed-Ben-Nazar (or Nasr), call Al-Hamar the Red (since he/she had the red beard) one. When Ben-Al-Hamar (Mohamed-Ben-Nazar) winner entered in Granada in that year of 1238, the population he received him/her with the scream of Welcome the winner for the grace of God, to what he responded: God is only conquering. This is the motto of the shield nazarà and it is also written by the whole Alhambra. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alhambra Picture / Photo:Reguera |

It dates of 1377 with Mohamed V, son of Yusuf I. Of rectangular plant, surrounded by a slender gallery with 124 columns of white marble of AlmerÃa. Surroundings, the bedrooms, the sultan's private rooms and wives with open top floor, lack of windows that look to the exterior, but with interior garden as it corresponds to the Muslim idea of the paradise. What today is earth in the patio, was garden. Of each room 4 streams that you/they go to the center flow: the 4 rivers of the paradise. The columns unite with soaked cloths that allow to pass the light. Cylindrical very thin shafts, rings in the superior part, cubic capitals on those that inscriptions run. The gray irons of lead are shocks for the earthquakes. The two templetes that advance to the two opposed sides of the patio is as a memory of the store of campaign of the Bedouins. They are of square plant, decorations with wooden domes that rely on mocárabes pechinas. The eaves is work of the XIX century. The whole gallery is roofed with having coffered of ornamentation. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alhambra |

AlbaicÃn (or AlbayzÃn). Neighborhood of the Spanish city of origin Granada AndalusÃ.You began to populate in Iberian time, and dispersed Roman poblamiento existed. In their hillsides a town was built in time califal that was surrounded of Walls (Citadel Cadima) in time Ziri. According to some linguists it owes their current name to the residents of the city of Baeza that, exiles of her after the battle of the Dales of Tolosa, settled in this area of Granada outside of the existent walls. Other linguists assure that the toponym comes from Arabic al-Baycin that means (the suburb) of the hawkers. In Andalusia other four neighborhoods exist with that name, in Alhama of Granada (Granada), Antequera (Málaga), Baena (Córdoba) and Sabiote (Jaén). The fact that in the XXI century this neighborhood is not properly a suburb it doesn't mean that in the Half Age it was not considered as such. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albaicin Author: ramosmm (MM Fields) |
