Their geographical coordinates are 36º 55' N, 6º 04' OR. it is located to an altitude of 36 meters and 78 kilometers of the county capital, Seville.It is the homeland of Antonio of Nebrija author of the first Spanish grammar.

Giralda is part of one of the most representative buildings in Seville, the cathedral, one of the biggest of the world and true jewel of the Gothic and Baroque. In their day it was the highest tower in the world with their 97,5 meters high (it continues being the roof of the city), it is without a doubt one of the most famous images in the city.The tower, old minaret of the mosque almohade of Seville, is constituÃda for differentiated several bodies although perfectly united showing a perfect example of the wealth of the existent hearth of cultures in the city. The Muslim body is the oldest, it was built in 1184 by order of Abu Yaqub Yusuf and it stops its construction, such and like you can appreciate in its base, the remains of some buildings and Roman seats were used. As curiosity it fits to highlight the fact that Giralda doesn't have stairways, but 35 sufficiently wide ramps to allow the sultan to ascend for them mounted to horse to see the beautiful print that it is sighted.

Seville is a Spanish city located to the Southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, capital of Andalusia and of the homonymous county.Seville is the fourth city of Spain and fourth metropolitan area for inhabitants' number. It counts with 704.154 inhabitants and 1.317.098 in the metropolitan area 1.813.908 in the total of the county (data of 2005). It is the artistic, cultural, financial, economic and social main center of the south of Spain and one of the most important of the south of Europe. It is also an important industrial center of new technologies and aeronautics (factory of EADS-HOUSE settled down in the airport). Seville and their nucleuses of population satellites don't constitute a metropolitan true area but an urban mass, because it lacks a coordination organ in which all the organisms are represented with metropolitan competitions, such as the city councils. Although there are joint organs that take charge of the metropolitan management of certain sectoral (you dilute, residuals, etc.) activities, therefore it cannot be spoken of metropolitan area in their stricter sense.
