Bértiz-spider (in Basque and in an official way Bertizarana) is a municipality of the north of the Statutory Community of Navarrese located in the district of High Bidasoa, in Merindad of Pamplona. They form it the town councils of: Legasa, Narbarte (Capital), Oieregi. He/she has 662 inhabitants.

Bertizarana, means the valley of Bertiz in Basque; of Bertiz + (h) they plow (fence) + - to (article).

The municipality receives its name of the Dominion of Bértiz that is located inside its limits, occupying most of the municipal term. The Dominion of Bértiz is at the moment a natural park.

The first reference of property of the Dominion goes back a year 1392. Their holder was Pedro Miguel Bértiz that merino of the mountains, judge of wide jurisdiction, was named by the king Carlos III the nobleman. The dominion was in hands of the old family Bértiz until the XIX century.
