The source of Cibeles settled in 1782 in the Living room of the Grassland of Madrid, next to Palacio of Buenavista, of face to the source of Neptune (at the moment in the center of the square of Cibeles, between the Walk of Recoletos and Paseo del Prado). It includes the goddess Cibeles, symbol of the Earth, the agriculture and the fecundity, on a car thrown by lions. The current square called herself at the beginning Square of Madrid and in the year 1900 took the name square of Castelar. At the present time it is defined by the big buildings of Palacio of Buenavista (General Barracks of the Army), Palacio of Linares (House of America), Palacio of Communications (mail) and Bank of Spain. The curious thing is that each one of these monuments belongs to a neighborhood different from Madrid.
