Teguise is a municipality canary belonging to the county of Las Palmas. It is located in the center of the island of Lanzarote in a fringe that this goes from the coast to the west. Formerly it was the capital of Lanzarote, given to Reef in 1852.Sus good known towns are Tahiche, in the coast this, and Guatiza, place where he/she is the famous Garden of Cactus, it works of the brilliant artist lanzaroteño Caesar Manrique. It is also known by the cultivation of the cochineal, insect of which the tint called vermilion is extracted.In Morocco a town exists with a very similar name, Iguisse.
