The neighborhood of Triana has supposed a historical constant in the urban evolution of Las Palmas of Great Canaria, almost from the same moment in that had its origin the first nucleus of population of this city, starting from the last third of the XV century. The election of the name of Triana on the part of its old inhabitants can possibly have relationship with the trianero neighborhood of Seville, given the Andalusian important populational contribution that arrived to Canaries in the first moments after the conquest.
