Axpe Achondo (in Basque and officially Atxondo), is a municipality of the county of Biscay, Basque country (Spain), belonging to the district of Duranguesado.Up to 1962 in that the three anteiglesias that now compose the municipality of Atxondo they unite, each one of them has their own history. As all the anteiglesias their origins collapse in the history and they are connected in the origin of the Flat Earth of Biscay.The anteiglesias of Arrazola, Axpe and Apatamonasterio belonged to Merindad of Durango and they had voice and vote in their General Meetings that took place in complex Juradero of Guerendiaga and the the House of Meetings of Astola in Abadiño.On behalf of Apatamonasterio clergymen's monastery is meant that was chosen a monastery that was founded in this place of another that existed in the neighboring anteiglesia of San Agustín of Etxebarria to differ.
