Vigo is the municipality more town of the county of Pontevedra and also of all Galicia. It is located beside the Ocean Atlantic and it occupies the on number one in the fishing market of Europe being the first port of the world in products of the sea for the human consumption. Vigo has been chosen as headquarters of the future European Agency of Fishing.Lima to the north with the Ocean Atlantic, to the northeast with the municipality of Redondela, to the east with the municipality of Mos, to the south with the municipalities of OR Porriño and Gondomar and to the Southwest with the municipality of Nigrán.Vigo has 293.725 hab. (1-1-2005) and the population of the metropolitan area of Vigo is considered around those 423.821 inhabitants, occupying the position 15º in the ranking of the urban areas of Spain. Their extension is of 109,1 km².
