The Roman presence in Sarria comes bound to the hegemony of the Roman nearest city, Lucus Augusti that connected through the village sarriana with Castro Dactonio (Monforte of Lemos), archaeological excavations revealed the presence of two Roman villages located in Vilar of Sarria and in San AntolĂ­n. You also finds a funeral trail coming from Vilar of Sarria that now this exposed one in the Museum of Pontevedra.
