To the costat of the castell it is troba l'antiga parochial l'església of Santa María that fou l'antiga església of the castell; it conserves a bona part of l'estructura romànica i fou objecte d'una acurada restauració directed per Josep Puig i Cadafalch the one 1906. L'edifici, declarat monument the 1931, és format per a first edifici romànic that not fou acabat fins to the principi of the XIII segle, després that patí the invasió almoràvit.
