Requena is a municipality belonging to the district of Requena-Utiel of the county of Valencia (Spain) located in the western part of the same one. Their municipal term extends for a great part of the superior basin of the Meager river. According to their extension it is the municipal biggest term in the Valencian Community.Neighborhood of Villa. Neighborhood of Villa, Medieval Enclosure.
It is the oldest in Requena where they registered the first population indications. In time almohade, Villa acquires the urban structure that corresponds to the prototype of the Hispanic-Muslim cities, in which stands out: The Strength, Square of Weapons, Medina and the Suburb. Villa has its base in a promontory sobreelevado of calcareous tufa, that which offered him/her a character of natural defense. Their environment is surrounded by a wall with its defensive corresponding towers and the different access doors to the city. The Neighborhood of Villa was declared in 1966 national Historical Artistic Group of character due to its buildings and churches of cultural and patrimonial great importance
