The monastery was founded by Gombau of Besora, Mister among other lands of the castle of Montbui in Caldas. In 997, Gombau bought the lands to Ramón Borrell. The exact date of the foundation of the monastery is ignored but in 1006 a community of friars was already installed, being its first abbot Guillemund.So much the counts from Barcelona like own Gombau endowed to the monastery of important goods. In 1042, Gombau united, in priorate quality, the Catalan monastery with that of San Victor from Marseilles with the purpose of guaranteeing the continuity of the monastery after its death.foto:htpp://es.wikipedia.org/
