Zaragoza would not exist neither it could understand each other without the presence of Ebro, the mightiest river and with the biggest basin hidrográfica in the Spanish State (85.000 Km2). The first well-known residents, the Iberian, settled in their vicinities, founding Salduie, city-state, in the fork of the old outlet of the river Huerva with Ebro. Starting from then the successive inhabitants enjoyed the privileges, although also of the risks that the magnificent presence of Ebro imposed. The Romans founded Caesaraugusta in a location with a strategic privileged situation, in the fork of three rivers, Ebro, Huerva, and Gállego, and not too much far from Jalón.
