Sacred María the Real one is the most important monument in Nájera and center of historical and artistic interest of the city. The monastery was founded in 1052 by the king Don garcía that of Nájera and its wife Doña Estefanía of Foie, daughter of the Counts from Barcelona, soon after the discovery of the Virgin's mysterious image in a cave, according to bill the legend to which you/they gave origin the monks cluniacienses in the XVI century.
