In their article 4 the Statute of Autonomy of the Region of Murcia settles down that: "The flag of the Region of Murcia is rectangular and it contains four battlemented castles in gold, in the superior left angle, distributed of two in two, and seven real crowns in the inferior right angle, prepared in four lines, with one, three, two and an elements respectively; it has more than enough everything red crimsom bottom or cartagena."
