The bridge was built by the Romans in the emperor's times Augusto (century l d. of C.). On him the August Road that led from C贸rdoba to Rome happened. In their day it was the first and only entrance and exit of C贸rdoba. The tower of Calahorra is in the other end of the bridge, and it is about an Arab rampart that the Christian reconstructed in 1369 (s. XIV) with Enrique II. It is of cross plant and it has square turrets. At the moment it houses the Museum of the City, an exhibition that shows the splendor of the three cultures that you/they cohabited in C贸rdoba.
