Church of Saint John in Coomonte

Coomonte (Also called Coomonte De la Vega) is a municipality and place located in the north of Zamora's county, in the autonomous community of Castile and León (Spain). Their main source of revenues is from ancestral times the agriculture. In 1995, coomonte had 364 inhabitants and about 10 term km².Saint John the Baptist church, of plant basilical, with three ships, finished in three apses in way rectángular, with an altar in each one. Of the first apse, located in the northeast area of the church, it leaves a door toward the sacristy, the altar of this apse is Baroque, with great decoration and in the center the Virgin's image. In the main apse he/she meets the biggest altar with the sacrarium and Saint John the Baptist image in their center, an enormous decoration, and squares where the pattern's life is remembered. In the third apse we find the Virgin's image again in a decorated altarpiece and with columns. The roof of the two lateral apses is a vault of edges, with scarce decoration, while the central apse, is covered for a circular great dome, subject for pechinas, in each one of those which there are paintings that evoke the life of some saints.
