Ferreras of Up it is a municipo of Zamora's county (Spain. 897 msnm, 48 km² and 511 inhabitants (INE 2005). Dista 66 km to the northwest of the capital. Located in the district of Sanabria it limits with the terms from Villardeciervos to the West, Otero of Weddings to the North, Ferreras of Below to the Northwest and East, Tábara to the Southeast and RiofrÃo of it Enlists to the South.The municipality is located in the central area of Sierra of the Snake. This mountain, of contours soft and scarce height, means the transition between the typical plains zamoranas and the high summits of the area of Sanabria. It is a privileged area for certain species like the roe deer, the deer, the boar, the wolf and the rapacious birds.
The landscape is composed of oaks, chestnut trees, roquedal, chopos and different mount varieties under. The mountain is divided in two in the municipality and form a long valley in which the chromatic contrasts among the vegetation, the tones of the lands and the mount are the differentiating tonic.
