Ponferrada is the capital of the district of Bierzo, belonging to the county of León, in the autonomous community of Castile and León (Spain). It is located in the coordinates 42,33° N, 006º 34' 59" OR, to 508 m on the sea level, in the fork of the rivers Sil and Boeza, and he/she has an approximate population of 65.000 inhabitants.The most important monument is the Castle Templario of Ponferrada, the biggest in extension deEuropa. Their construction concludes in 1282. In fact, the strength was up-to-date and reconstructed in numerous occasions throughout the history, among the XIII and XVII centuries. At the moment it is in rehabilitation process.
