Although have been populate previously, the first fact in that Alcañizo appears is dated May 25 of 1332. This document conserved in the file of the Church Schoolboy of Talavera of the Queen, is a document for the one which the queen Doña MarÃa from Portugal, wife of XI Alfonso, granted to the officer of Talavera of the Queen, don Juan GarcÃa Palomeque "that can transform into meadow the house of Alcañizo of the Field Arañuelo." The queen's letter Doña MarÃa from Portugal that we reproduce, is confirmed by her husband, the king XI Alfonso, in Burgos the day August 27 of 1332. Considerations on this document. XI Alfonso's wedding with Doña MarÃa from Portugal takes place in the month of September of 1328 in City Rodrigo; The King makes it Mrs. of Talavera, Guadalajara and Olmedo, passing Talavera from this date to be Talavera of the Queen. Here Doña MarÃa lived from Portugal to the being abandoned by her husband that lived lived together with Doña Leonor of Guzmán.
