In a closed bend of this river he/she rises the promontory on which settles the town of Alarc贸n. With Iberian and Roman antecedents, this town enters in the history after being occupied by the Arabs to who it owes its name (alarc贸n = the strength) and the construction of the primitive castle of which derives the current one. The history of Alarc贸n is bound to that of its castle (to see: Castle of Alarc贸n) and he/she comes determined by their condition of fortified square. Nevertheless, it is not the castle the valuable only element of their monumental patrimony; it also has a varied architecture, so much nun (churches of Sacred Domingo of Silos, of Saint John the Baptist, Santa Trinidad, Santa Mar铆a of the Field, and the hermitage of Santa Mar铆a of the Order), as civil (the city council, the House of Villena and the palace of Casta帽eda).Villa of Alarc贸n is declared Historical Artistic Group, there being you approved the Delimitation of the Environment July 3 of 1981. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alarc%C3%B3n |
