Extended it is the well-known tradition that refers us the appearance of the image of the Virgin of Franqueira whose origin wants to go back, although the foundation is ignored, until the century Vll. An image that was worshipped by the native ones who hid it in the face of the fear of the sarracenos, in a grotto in the high of Paradanta from remote times, where it remained until an old man that shepherded her livestocks discovered some lights that pointed out the elected place of the sacred image
